The question of memory has become one of the dominant themes in social sciences and humanities for the past three decades. Some scholars even speak about a new paradigm. There are relatively many theoretical conceptions related to the theme of memory, which often intersect with and influence one another. This gives rise to a situation that is not entirely transparent, being even reminiscent of a labyrinth. This book aims to present fundamental approaches to this topic attempting to facilitate the finding a path through this imaginary labyrinth. In addition, it strives to outline new approaches and possibilities which may be inspirational for this research area. We hope that this collective monograph will be useful not only to experts and students, but also to the wider readership.
