summary
German baroque sermons written in the Czech Lands represent one of the little researched areas of the philosophy and history of theology. This collection of Dominican ecclesiastic texts written between 1715–1761, prints focusing on Bohemian issues, presents this theme through the use of several specific examples.
The book contains annotated editions of four German and four Czech sermons for holidays and special occasions taken from the collection of the historic library of the preacher brothers in St. Giles convent in Prague. The German texts are complemented with mirror translations and the book also includes an extensive introductory essay.
The target audience includes both experts and the non-expert public interested in Baroque homiletics.
