Základy anesteziologie a intenzivní medicíny pro stomatology

This publication introduces readers, that is dental students, dentists, and nurses working in dental and oral surgery practices, to the fundamentals of anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine. The textbook is divided into five sections. The first section focuses in detail on resuscitation, a skill that all healthcare professionals and medical students must master early in their studies. This includes pediatric resuscitation and disaster and mass casualty medicine. The second section is devoted to anaesthesia and perioperative medicine, taking into account the specific aspects of anaesthesiology in the fields of dentistry and oral surgery. Regional anaesthesia is also covered. The third section addresses the principles of postsurgical care and pain management in dentistry. In the fourth section, the reader is introduced to the fundamentals of intensive care medicine and emergency conditions, with a focus on those that a dentist may encounter in their medical practice. The final section addresses ethical issues in intensive care medicine and briefly explains the importance of simulation medicine.
