Na cestě k porozumění Orientu a Africe

The studies included in this book represent an overview of the multi-faceted work of leading Czech Orientalist, Luboš Kropáček. The span of the works, from the 1960s to the present day, and their thematic scope covers a major part of Kropáček’s life as well as all important areas of his research interest (Islamic, Arab and African studies). Most have been published before, although scattered and mostly poorly accessible, while others are now being published for the first time. All of the studies have been complemented with brief introductions, written for this book, which explain the context and other circumstances of their origin. The endnotes have been expanded as well. In addition to religious and Oriental studies experts, this book will undoubtedly be of interest to a broader readership.
