Lenka Krátká’s monograph traces several decades of the history of Czechoslovak Airlines from the foundation of the company in the First Republic era (1923) to the first year of the independent Czech Republic (1993). The history of the national airline is presented mostly from the perspective of economic history. It is also discussed in the broader context of social, political, and everyday-life history. Drawing primarily on the first comprehensive compilation of the airline’s extensive collection of documents, the book presents abundant historical evidence, making it possible to follow a long timeline of the company’s (dis)continuous development.
