Břevno v oku

This new collection of fifty essays with the subheading “People in 2022” is loosely based on the concept and structure of the previous book “Man bites dog” (2021). Their common theme is the mapping of the “mosaics of human nature as composed by leading scientific journals.” As before, the essays are based on current knowledge and trends in contemporary science, especially cognitive neuroscience, with a broad range of other fields from psychology to sociology and cultural anthropology up to neuroeconomics or neurogenetics. The cited sources are of high quality, and the author often guides the questions raised in surprising directions. He confirms his reputation as a popularizer of science par excellence.
