Filologické studie 2020

This monograph focuses on the employment of the interdisciplinary approach in teaching languages in a scholastic setting. It presents a theoretical definition of interdisciplinarity and interdisciplinary approaches in instruction, and covers the central curricular and programmatic documents regulating education in the Czech Republic. It also analyzes curricular documents of selected countries for different languages as well as school educational programs for elementary and/or secondary schools and selected textbooks from an intercultural perspective. In addition, it demonstrates interdisciplinarity in media education. The monograph presents a varied, but coherent view of the diverse approaches to interdisciplinarity in language instruction within Czech curriculum, including inspirations from abroad.
