summary

This monograph is a follow-up to works titled Institutions and Responsibility (Karolinum Press, 2004) and Post-Transformation Contemplations (Karolinum Press, 2008). This work covers the relations between the systems of ownership rights and corporate governance. The scholar describes the different types of ownership and their influence on management, particularly with respect to current developments (accounting scandals such as in Enron or Parmalat, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, managerial bonuses, their principles, etc.). He compares conditions in the leading world economies (the U.S.A., Great Britain, Germany, Italy, France and to some extent also in the transforming economies of Central and Eastern Europe). Klusoň is one of the leading figures of the Czech school of institutional economics.
