summary
This monograph, compiled by a group of scholars led by Jiří Januška, presents on a large scale and in a broad scope several areas and aspects of Czech-Hungarian university relations. It presents a complete overview of the history of instruction of the Hungarian language and literature at Czech universities and offers a commented sum of knowledge up to the present day as well as new information on the most prominent figures in the history of Czech Hungarian studies and the influence they had on Czech science. The text is complemented by reprints of many original texts in the field and several historical documents, memories of contemporary witnesses and pictorial supplements. The book also presents a detailed view of the history of instruction of Czech studies at universities in Hungary, also focusing on the historical presence of Hungarian students at Czech universities. Last but not least, the book also includes the context of Czech-Hungarian non-university relations.
