This monograph deals with popular Czech literature of 1930s and 1940s. The first part of the book gives an account of the cultural-historical features of the individual penny dreadful series, informing about their birth and development, their extent and feedback, literary nature and genre, as well as their authors. The second, more extensive part contains a commented list of all Czech penny dreadful series of the era, together with lists of contributors ? writers and illustrators. The book is accompanied by a colour plate and nominal index.
