Marrying a daughter off (perhaps even against her will) in a ceremony performed by an unauthorized priest, and therefore against all church rules and regulations and absolutely unlawfully, and only subsequently (and successfully) striving to make such marriage legitimate was considered a daring deed in the early years of the rule of Charles VI, a zealous Catholic.
