Following the original concept and methodology, the fifth, revised edition now includes a complete language revision of all eleven lessons, reflecting the developments in the Slovenian language and linguistics. The chapter “Basic Information about the Slovenian Standard Language” has been expanded, and based on the latest findings in contemporary Slovenian phonetics, the chapter “Phonology of the Slovenian Standard Language” now includes new explanations of phenomena related to the pronunciation of phones and stress. Both bilingual dictionaries, which have also been updated, are useful for reading the texts included in the Reader, compiled from original Slovenian texts.
