Učení je život, život je učení

This publication traces the professional and personal life of Pavel Hartl – a prominent Czech psychologist, psychotherapist, university teacher, lexicographer, and publicist. His life was fundamentally affected by the historical events of the 20th century, which were reflected in the author’s professional and popularisation activities. The book presents a selection of Hartl’s work, including previously unpublished texts, as well as memories recollected by his family, colleagues, friends, and students, offering a comprehensive view of his personality and the times in which he worked.
Pavel Hartl also contributed to the creation and development of a number of professional institutions and organisations, the most important of which are the Czech Society for Adult Education and the Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University.
