Patrick Chamoiseau: Le chant dʼombre et de lumière

The monograph focuses on poetic topoi and literary images in Patrick Chamoiseau’s novels. The imaginary, a concept studied by Ernst Robert Curtius (European Literature and the Latin Middle Ages, 1957) and theorised by Gilbert Durand (The Anthropological Structures of the Imaginary, 2016), emerges as an integral part of Chamoiseau’s poetics. The book aims to analyse the imagery of fairy tales, slavery, the living, and literary and philosophical imagery. The metaphor of the writer is a long-lasting image with multiple meanings.
