The book describes the diverse environment of the punk and metal alternative music scene in Pilsen during the 1980s and the first half of the 1990s. Rather than a comprehensive factual description of the scene, it focuses on developing and deepening certain topics (everyday life in music, the dynamics of the relationship between the scenes and political actors, and the transformation of these scenes in the first half of the 1990s), giving prominence to the perspective of the actors themselves. It draws not only on oral history research conducted with musicians, their fans, and occasional agents of their concerts, but also on archival sources and the contemporary press. The text focuses on musical groups such as Znouzectnost, Požár mlýna, Bradavice, Petr Mach, etc.
