Kultura – zbožnost – symbolická politika

The book is a selection of the French historian and Czech studies expert Marie-Élizabeth Ducreux’s lifework. It aims to enable Czech readers to fully understand Marie-Élizabeth Ducreux’s research scope as well as her ways and methods of thinking about Czech history, carefully placed in Central European context. Apart from being a historian, more knowledgeable in relevant historical sources and contemporary Central European literature than many “domestic” authors, the author’s being French allows her to adopt an “external” perspective on Czech history without being hindered by local traumas and stereotypes.
