The Horn of Africa, a region split between Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somaliland, and Somalia, has a long history and diverse culture, shaped by numerous security issues and political disputes. Though fraught with instability, the region is directly adjacent to key maritime routes, representing an important area from the geostrategic point of view. A Political Geography of the Horn of Africa features chapters organized both by geography and individual issues. Intended for a wider audience, it introduces case studies as well as more general political science concepts that can be observed in the region. The book is the first comprehensive Czech-written text dealing with the Horn of Africa.
