Foniatrie

This textbook presents an overview of modern knowledge in phoniatrics, which is closely related to otorhinolaryngology, but is also to other disciplines. The textbook contains three essential chapters on speech, hearing and voice disorders. The chapter on speech focuses on a complex of disorders that are related to the central nervous system. The chapter on hearing emphasizes the diagnostics and care in cases of permanent hearing impairment, and provides an erudite view of the auditory prostheses. The chapter on voice disorders describes illnesses of phonatory system from the perspective of special phoniatric diagnostics and with focus on rehabilitation of chronically ill patients.
This textbook is intended for students of otorhinolaryngology as well as for post-graduate education (ORL, practical medicine, clinical speech therapy, voice education).
