Third edition of a book offering an introduction into political communication and content analysis of media information. The first section of the publication consists of three texts by sociologists from the university in Erlangen-Nuremberg written as part of a common project with the Department of Mass Communication of the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism and the Centre for Media Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. They introduce the relation of the media and the public sector and present methods of a quantitative analysis of mass media information and evaluation of media coverage. The second part of the book presents the results of the project focusing on the depiction of the "Christmas crisis" in the Czech Television at the turn of 2000 and 2001 as reported by the Czech Radio.
