The author describes broadcasting in the territory of Bohemia and Moravia from the foundation of the first private broadcasting company in 1923, continues through the start of regular broadcasting, the entrance of state capital into the broadcasting institution, the almost complete nationalisation in 1938, and the German overtake of the broadcasting network in 1939. The work deals with the position and structure of the broadcasting company, law conditions for its work, financial background of the programme production, concept, structure and the main genres of the programme, and the development of technologies and the broadcasting network.
