This book makes the historical argument that Czechs and Albanians, despite their significant geographical distance from one another and even if not always sharing similar geopolitical positions – especially so in their respective socialist periods – have further developed their diplomatic relations, have established enduring economic (trade) connections, and have cultivated mutual sympathies. These relations have benefited particularly from direct, people-to-people interactions. Indeed, in marking these one hundred years of diplomatic relations, their interactions and mutual sympathies appear more intense. Comprised of six historical-analytical and three speech/memoir narrative chapters, this book offers a multi-faceted account on a century-long history of Czech(Slovak)-Albanian diplomatic relations enriched especially by remarkable interpersonal and cultural experiences and resilient commercial exchanges.
