summary
This monograph presents papers delivered during the round table held on April 30, 2014, organized by the Department of the French Language and Literature, Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague, in cooperation with the French Institute in Prague. It consists of eight papers. Philippe Martin, Tomáš Duběda and Jana Vlčková-Mejvaldová analyze suprasegmental aspects of the language and the problems of its acquisition. Jean-Yves Dommergues, Élise Ryst and Erwan Pépiot describe the methods of linguistic processing of information by students of French as a foreign language. Enrica Galazzi focuses on the pronunciation model in today’s globalized society. Sylva Nováková analyzes the contemporary status of phonetics in French instruction, while Kateřina Suková Vychopňová focuses on the types of phonetic exercises in French textbooks. Michaela Mádlová’s contribution outlines the use of media in the instruction of French. Each of the chapters proves that contemporary research activities are closely related to didactic issues in teaching French as a foreign language.
