Cestou politické teorie

Taking as an example the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, the oldest department of political science, established in the late 1960s in Czechoslovakia, the book traces the (re-)establishment of political science as a research field in the Czech Republic. It shows how the discipline has been cleaved into a scientistic and humanistic branch, the Department of Political Science being a representative of the latter. The book also discusses the restrictions this cleavage imposes on Czech political science. Finally, overlaps between political science and other disciplines are touched upon, most importantly the relation between political theory and history.
