Vlastnictví periodického tisku v České republice v letech 1989-2006

The aim of this publication is to provide a detailed overview of the ownership of Czech periodicals from 1989-2006, to point out the typical features of its development in the monitored period and to present its current situation and structure, also with regard to the legislative context. As this topic has not been treated academically, this publication can be an important informative contribution both for the academic and general public interested in the current situation in Czech media.
In separate chapters, the author provides an overview of the legislation regulating periodicals and their development in the period, and covers the social-economic context of the development of the ownership of Czech periodicals. He also evaluates the development of the periodicals in the monitored period and compares it with the development in other countries, particularly the post-communist during the period of 1989-2006. Supplements provide detailed, well-arranged and comprehensive charts summarizing the information provided in the book.
