This publication addresses physical education for elementary school students, teenagers and persons with impaired health. Impaired health is usually a contraindication for elevated physical exertion during physical education activities in which performance aspect is emphasized. Remedial physical education combines the theory related to the care of one’s own health with physical education focused on the motor, breathing and nerve systems. We also recommend it for persons with obvious signs of motor discoordination.
In this textbook intended for students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University as well as for others interested in physical activity from the viewpoint of its functional significance for human health, the requirement for conscientious practice is emphasized. It is a combination of mental exercises with a balancing exercise form, attention during exercising is paid to the awareness of the position and movement of body parts – kinesthesia.
