summary
Psychology of Music for Teachers is a monograph presenting a structured selection of basic information to aid teachers in diagnosing and developing their pupils’ internal perceptive skills, experiencing and making music as well influencing the course and quality of these processes. It focuses mainly on the psychology of musical abilities and activities. This monograph, essentially a revision and extension of František Sedlák’s earlier book entitled Basics of Psychology of Music (SPN, 1990), was written in collaboration with the scholar’s daughter Hana Váňová who completed the original text with contemporary information, added new chapters strengthening the cognitive approach to the mental process analysis and elaborated on application of knowledge from the field of music psychology to practical teaching.
