The book presents the methods of examining the stability of hydrodynamic flow both in linear and non-linear approximations. The second part of the book treats more general problems of non-linear geophysical hydrodynamics and non-traditional techniques of liquid flow study. The book is intended for those interested in the mechanics of liquids and non-linear dynamics in geophysical hydrodynamics. It is also a textbook accompanying lectures of Selected Parts of Geophysical Hydrodynamics and Wave Motions and Energetics of the Atmosphere offered by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague.
