summary
The author surveys the development of mutual relations of Czechoslovakia and Great Britain from the birth of the Czechoslovak Republic and the peace treaties which constituted Europe in 1918, to the efforts of international security in the 1920s, to the gradual departure of Great Britain from the support of the post-war arrangement of the Central Europe in 1930–1935. British policy of appeasement is analysed in detail, above all, which culminated by the British Prime Minister Chamberlaine signing the Munich Agreement. The author used a number of official sources, hitherto unknown to the wider public, from the Czechoslovak Foreign Ministry and the British Foreign Office.
