This book contains 14 essays on the history of medicine, which are divided into four chronology-based parts: antiquity and Middle Ages, 16th-17th centuries, 18th-19th centuries and 20th century. Part of the collection is a biography of the medicine historian Ladislav Niklíček (1936-1995).
